Because of the winter storms in Texas, the CDL Super Week was born. With many of the CDL teams living in Texas, league officials called for the super week so the season wasn’t delayed at all. Like the last recap post, Dallas Empire and Atlanta FaZe finished the week on top.
The LA Thieves were finally handed a loss after their matchup with the Empire on Sunday. Even though they were swept 3-0, LA Thieves stayed competitive through the majority of their games. They lost Hardpoint 250-212 and then their S&D finished with a 6-5 final in favor of Dallas. LA had a chance to take home the win in S&D but stellar play by Dallas’ CrimSix prevented that.
After this extended week of play, Atlanta FaZe remains the overall top dog on the season. OpTic Chicago, Dallas Empire and LA Thieves are hot on their heels, all tied for second place. So far for the 2021 season, our DIG top 5 projections are as follows:
1. Dallas Empire 4-1
2. OpTic Chicago 4-1
3. Seattle Surge 1-4
4. LA Thieves 4-1
5. Atlanta FaZe 5-0
It is still early in the season, but we have done well with four of the five projections. The Seattle Surge will really need to hit the gas pedal moving forward if they want to make some noise this year. As of right now, NY and Minnesota are in the mix this year and have shown some top tier gameplay. Expect both of those teams to make a push during the season.
