Halo Infinite Battle Royale

The topic of a Halo Infinite battle royale has been a hot one ever since the game was announced back in 2018. With this announcement, came information around the multiplayer portion of the game being free to play. During the time of this announcement, Fortnite was blowing up and really put battle royale games on the map. Naturally, fans immediately drew the conclusion that there was a new BR on the horizon. Halo fans were told that they shouldn’t expect a Halo Infinite battle royale though. This did not sit well with fans, given the climate of esports at the time.

Fast forward to 2021:

Details around around some of the visual effects in the game were highlighted on Twitter last week. The main account for Halo replied to that tweet with the GIF you see above. If Master Chief is saying “only the hottest of drops”, the esports world is only going to assume the Halo BR is actually in development. Unfortunately though, fans will most likely have to wait until Fall of this year to find out for sure about the BR rumors. If you want to read more on this, check out this article: Halo Infinite BR
