CDL Major Tournament

Over the weekend, the first CDL Major Tournament of the 2021 season took place and the top dogs did not disappoint. See below for the results of the tournament:

Atlanta FaZe came out of the weekend as Stage One CDL Major Tournament Champions, beating the Dallas Empire in a best-of-nine grand finals. Atlanta FaZe has shown championship caliber gameplay since they came into the league last year. They made the season finals and eventually lost to the Empire. Having high expectations and eyes on the prize this year, winning the first Major tournament of the year sets up the rest of their season.

Placing in the top eight for this Major meant you brought home some cash. The bottom four unfortunately are given a pat on the back and a “better luck next time” for their efforts. Among those four, is the Seattle Surge and our projected number three team for 2021. Below is where our projected top five stack up as of now:

1. Dallas Empire: 100 CDL Points
2. OpTic Chicago: 80 CDL Points
3. Seattle Surge: 10 CDL Points
4. LA Thieves: 70 CDL Points
5. Atlanta FaZe: 125 CDL Points

As of right now, Atlanta FaZe, Dallas Empire and OpTic Chicago are the top three teams respectively. The race for third place is on right now, with New York Subliners and LA Thieves hot on the tail of OpTic. For updated standings in the CDL, click this link: CDL 2021 Standings
