Atlanta FaZe has won the CDL stage three major tournament that happened over last weekend. Just like previous major tournaments, the seeding is based on how stage three league play panned out. FaZe found themselves on top from the start, with the bottom of the league being rounded out by the Seattle Surge and Paris Legion. You can see a snapshot of how the bracket ended up below:

FaZe came out of the gates guns blazing in their round one match against the Dallas Empire. Atlanta took it to last years Champions in each game played, giving them a clean 3-0 win to advance. What made the championship run interesting for FaZe, was their loss to the NY Subliners in the Winner’s Finals. Needing to make a run from the loser’s bracket, they went on to face the Toronto Ultra. Toronto just came off of a close matchup with Chicago OpTic, winning 3-2 in a “back and forth” manner. Coming to the Loser’s Finals, the score does not reflect the dominance of FaZe throughout the matchup. Each of their wins came in blowout fashion and Ultra’s wins were much closer.
Riding a bit of a hot streak, Atlanta comes into the Grand Finals (best of nine) with their rematch against the Subliners. FaZe kept the hot hand alive, even though they took a Map 1 loss to New York on Hardpoint (NY leads the CDL on Hardpoint victories). From that point on, FaZe flexed their muscles moving forward winning five of the next six maps. This meant that FaZe has won the CDL stage three major tournament, continuing their dominance this year. This came with 75 CDL points and a check for $200,000 for the organization, with the Subliners getting 60 and $120,000 respectively.
