100T Wins The LCS Championship

Los Angeles has a new champion in their city, after 100T wins the LCS Championship for the first time. This comes after a year long regular season where the top North American teams battle it out for the top spot. Starting in the beginning of August, the top teams in North America began the Championship tournament. When it comes to the semi-finals, you could see TSM, Cloud9, Liquid and 100T. The 100 Thieves team is easily the “new kid on the block” so you can bet that they had a full head of steam getting into the Finals.

The 100T League of Legends team finishes the regular season with a 29-16 record and places second overall leading into the LCS. What makes the Finals matchup really sweet for 100T is their opponents, Team Liquid. These two organizations have a short but exciting history over the last couple of seasons. Fans knew they were in for a treat in the Championship round. It would be a one sided affair as 100T wins the LCS Championship, shutting out Team Liquid. This victory is a huge moment for the organization after what was a disappointing 2020 season. This makes the first title for the organization that much more special to them heading into Worlds.

The top three teams from the NA Championships (100T, Liquid and C9) have earned their spots in the Worlds tournament. However, Cloud 9 (C9) will have to “run the gauntlet” in order to punch their ticket into the Worlds Championship. Here is hoping that the NA teams can hold their own on one of the biggest stages in esports.
