The Mechs Are Back In Fortnite

The Mechs are back in Fortnite with the most recent update to the game, and it is getting mixed reviews already. The B.R.U.T.E. was introduced to Fortnite back in 2019 and it took the game over after a couple of days. Many gamers were hopeful back then that the Mechs were going to be a nice addition. It could have helped level the playing field so the lower tiered players could compete at a higher level. It unfortunately got out of hand as the Mech became the meta in Fortnite, driving players to speak out. One player was Jack Dunlop or better known as CourageJD. He made a name for himself as a castor/commentator for Fortnite. However while streaming the end of the season, CourageJD made his feelings well known about the mechs. As a result, this cost him his role with Epic Games as a castor.

The B.R.U.T.E. was removed from Fortnite after a couple of updates to the game, and the community rejoiced in the decision. But as of today, the Mechs are back thanks to Epic Games adding them into the patch that comes out today. It’s now called a Salvaged B.R.U.T.E. and you won’t find them just scattered around the map once you drop in. There are stations around the map where you can spend some of your gold bars for the Mech. The Salvaged Mechs are exactly the same as before but with a key difference. There is not a shield this time around that protects the occupants of the Mech. Otherwise, we see the same “broken meta” that drove many players away from the popular battle royale. It is only a matter of time before this update drives a portion of the community away again.
